IT - Data Centers
Physical infrastructure of a Data Centre represents the foundation of not only correct functioning of IT equipment, but also of reliable conducting of business. Ever greater demands for increased reliability of the centres for data processing are defined through the standards that require professional approach to the infrastructure projects.
We often witness wrong approaching (from planning through realization of projects) that, after implementation of equipment, shows shortcomings and negatively affects reliability in operating. Rectifying of mistakes afterwards costs dearly. One of the reasons is development of IT hardware technology in high density environment that demands a completely different approach in design and realization. Global trends of increasing efficiency are based on new technologies and designs, which are parts of our solutions. EnelPS successfully guides the users through all the phases of realizing of physical infrastructure, using many years of experience in working on the IT field.
Planning
Planning starts with educating users, making a general design and a project task based on requests and capacities of users, with omni-present reduction of TCO and increase of efficiency. EnelPS offers help with the choice of space, preparatory works and advises users regarding the choice of infrastructure models. Afterwards, we work on planning with constant possibility for making of changes in any phase and according to the current users' demands. Planning relies on the ultimate designer tools that enable defining of equipment, simulation of certain conditions (redundancy cooling) and unique 3D display that makes possible for users to see clearly the planned data centre. Such a way of making a project, already in this segment, resolves the issue of the system management - project may be, directly from this phase, executed with equipment and spatial layout sketch into the system of inspection and control.
Power supply
Power and distribution of power supply are some of the key links of a system. Their precise dimensioning and correct use boost up the level of reliability of business processes. Dual powering of IT equipment has increased the level of reliability. What keeps being forgotten is that such a level needs to be translated to the powering devices and that only such a system can fulfill the highest demands in reliability of the whole Data Centre. Implementation of powering system: monolith or scalabil-modulare design, N+1, 2N, 2(N+1) systems of configuration are the area where EnelPS gained a great experience. Profiling and delivery of DEA aggregates, electro installations and cubicles as well as testing of complete powering systems are the areas of EnelPS' activities. Technical and servicing department, with the state of the art measuring instruments, is capable of responding to all demands that users have in the area of power supply. Awareness of development and commercial availability of new products, education and training of the employees in training centres, consistent applying of scientific procedures and standards secure a high level of support to end users.
Cooling
EnelPS approach the field of cooling DC with a contemporary view on solving the problem made by increased dissipation of IT equipment. Systems with cooling in double flooring have their limits but are successfully applied with lesser dissipations. Knowing all inadequacies of double floor cooling, EnelPS installs them by using the right engineering. For greater dissipations, In Row cooling system is successfully used. It became world trend and EnelPS is a pioneer in using these systems in Serbia. The Company does not participate only in planning and for internal units but also in realization of a complete air conditioning system. That includes chiller installation (if the systems are with cold water and with an option of free-cooling), condensators in a system of direct expansion, CDU distributive system and a competent start up. In the segment of air-conditioning, it is possible to save the most in Opex, by a correct choice of cooling.
Racks and rack accessories
Racks that are in use are defined by the type of equipment, cooling system and power distribution. We offer racks by the eminent world makers and of high quality domestic production, compatible with 19'' equipment of all manufacturers. Cabinets have a vast choice of accessories such as shelves, added horizontal or vertical cable distribution, patch panels, cooling improvement systems, blanking panels, roof cable holders etc. Power distributors for different powers and steering are chosen by the type of equipment - basic, metered or switched. In usage of 2N power supply system, PDU ledge with consumption measuring keeps the system functioning correctly in cases of losing one of the power supplies. There are also available rack additions for surveillance such as KVM switches, Rack Keyboard&Mouse, access control for racks, etc.
Management and surveillance
All active elements, such as power supply and cooling, are supervised through a centralized system for management and surveillance through IP network or through BMS (ModBus). Managing platform centralizes surveillance, control, analysis and history of alarming situations. Audio/video monitoring is done by IP cameras; there are also integrated sensors for measuring of temperature, air moisture, dew point, air flow and audio monitoring. Receiving information via web applications, e-mail, SNMP (or SMS) on all alarming situations helps timely reacting to important events. In this segment, EnelPS went a step further by offering the Capacity and Change Manager - a software installed on ISX Central that follows the life of a data centre from planning to realization and later takes care of possibilities for extending capacities in data centre, thus reducing costs and securing functioning.
Fire prevention and accompanying infrastructure
Within the framework of complete solutions for data centre infrastructure, EnelPS performs the works on fire alarming and extinguishing systems and anti-burglary systems equally well. EnelPS meets the users' requirements whether they need extinguishing type NAF, FM200, NOVEC or other, with project making. Double flooring and anti-static floor covering, other architectural and building works, EMS electro-magnetic room protection, Data Safes, structural cabling and access control are also done within the EnelPS' complete solutions.
